Sustainable, Recycled, Eco-Friendly

We are not the owners of this earth.

We are the caretakers.

Or at least, we’re supposed to be.

At Kinnikinnick Trading, we try to honour both our ancestors and those yet to be born. It’s never a perfect solution; like most people, we also have to make occasional compromises to get by in this modern world – but we do what we’re able when we’re able.

Any product we create with natural ingredients/parts are ethically and sustainably gathered, including replanting where necessary. This includes plants, resins, pelts, wood items, etc. We strive to provide the best natural ingredients in everything we make – remembering a time when no one needed to use the label “organic”; it just “grew” naturally! We do use mass-produced packaging, but order only what we can use and try to make sure the packaging (and the shipping materials) are recyclable, reusable, or both.

All of our “merch” is manufactured in partnership with an on-demand supplier. We only produce items we get an order for, avoiding textile waste from overproduction. Our printing partner’s high-quality printing tech
creates almost no wastewaters and uses less energy than standard industry printers!

Did you know, around 85% of all textiles produced by the fashion industry end up in landfills, making it a major contributor to environmental damage? What’s more, one in every five items produced by the
fashion industry
reach landfills without being worn even once!

Our clothing is printed using the DTG (direct-to-garment) printing method. The printing tech we use
is made with sustainability in mind, and uses almost zero wastewater as well as less energy than standard industry printers, lowering our carbon footprint. The inks we use for printing are vegan, water-based, and free of harmful chemicals. Any left-over ink is disposed of safely, according to ink supplier guidelines.

Most of our t-shirts are made with 100% recycled fabric (sizes S-2XL), while large sizes are made with 100% pre-shrunk cotton – and the pricing is the same, regardless of size. We also have warm, double-layer, knit beanies (embroidered design) made with 50% recycled polyester and 50% acrylic.

Last, but not least, our website is hosted on a server powered by 100% renewable energy; helping reduce carbon emissions and contributing to a healthier planet.
