11th Annual MOA Harvest Festival & Pow Wow 2019

Join us inside the historic palisades of a recreated Chonnonton Village at the Museum of Ontario Archaeology 11th annual Harvest Festival & Pow Wow!

This is a great Traditional Pow Wow with a collection of crafts, food, cultural presentations, workshops, dancing & drums from many First Nations – two days of fun & education for the whole family!

When: 14 & 15 Sept., 10am – 4:30pm (Grand Entry: Noon)

Where: 1600 Attawandaron Rd., London, ON MAP

Admission: $5 – Children 12 and under, free (please bring cash for the merchants/food – no ATM on site)

  • Craft and food vendors
  • Dancing, singing, and drumming
  • Crafts and activities for kids, including corn husk doll making, archery, and face painting
  • Flint knapping and pottery pit firing demonstrations

Pow Wow Etiquette

  • Always stand, remove hats, no photo/video during special songs (usually announced). These songs include Grand Entry, Flag Songs, and Veteran Songs.
  • Ask permission before taking photos, and indicate whether the photo will be used for publication or commercial use.
  • The correct term for any ‘outfit’ (esp. dancers) is Regalia, not a costume. Please do not touch anything without asking!
  • Any Intertribal Dance is open to everyone, have your family join our family!

Dance Specials

  • Atlohsa Family Healing Services will be hosting a “Red Dress” special in honor of MMIW. Red Dress special is open to all women dance categories.
  • N’Amerind Friendship Centre will be hosting a Tiny Tot special for all our 5 and under dancers.

Parking/Shuttle: Accessible Parking ONLY, onsite. There is Free parking at Saint Marguerite schools with free ongoing shuttle bus rides to and from the Museum provided by Elgie Bus Lines. The Shuttle Buses run continuously between the Museum and Saint Marguerite from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.
