These are a few examples of our Trade Goods – what is available may vary from time to time. Some items may be available in greater quantity (special order).
We source the best items we can find – and the most interesting and unique. People often comment on our eclectic selection of goods at events!
Our White Buffalo Sage comes directly from the mountain range it grows on in S.W. California – sustainably grown, cared for, hand harvested, dried traditionally/naturally by the same family for many generations. White Sage is one of the Four Sacred Medicines (along with Sweetgrass, Cedar & Natural Tobacco) and is one of the best medicines nature has provided us – burn it, drink it, bathe in it.
Our Minigan Salve is handmade exclusively in Ontario by a good friend, with naturally & sustainably sourced ingredients. Minigan is a traditional Anishinaabe salve made from Bear Fat, Cedar/Pine Resin and Beeswax – and will heal and close virtually any wound; burn, scrape, cut…it’s even good for reducing acne and hemorrhoids. Safe for the whole family – even pets. We call it “bandage in a bottle”!
While Dit Da Jow is not a medicine indigenous to Turtle island, that’s what trade is all about! An ancient Chinese liniment from the Shaolin tradition, Dit Da Jow translates from Chinese as “Fall & Hit Wine”. We make our own tincture with a traditional mixture of many herbs, resins, roots, etc. that is very effective in treating any muscle or joint pain; strain, sprain, break, bruise, arthritis, sore knees/elbows…unlike some modern analgesics, it helps fix the problem, not just hide it.
Pure Maple Water – the most refreshing natural drink you will find! One single ingredient (pure, filtered, sap from Maple Trees) filled with electrolytes & minerals to quench your thirst and refresh your energy with no “buzz” or side-effects.
We hand make & pit fire our own Clay Pipes here in Ontario. Based on traditional Haudenosaunee style ‘personal pipes’, these are authentic, Museum Quality reproductions of many original designs unearthed in archaeological digs and all are functional.
Many of the crafts we carry are made by Indigenous People here in Ontario – though we do acquire items through trade with other Nations! Most items we carry are unique – often available in limited amounts – some are one of a kind. Herbs, Resins & Botanicals are sustainably grown & gathered. Natural and most often wildcrafted (harvested in nature) – as well as locally sourced whenever possible.
Our stock varies with season and availability, so it’s always good to ask! If there is anything you are looking for, please contact us.
