Kinnikinnick Trading Co. is a small, Indigenous owned & operated business located in Port Colborne, Ontario (Canada), Dish With One Spoon treaty territory. Our owner is a Veteran (Canadian Armed Forces), an elder, and a “non-status, Urban Native” – with many relatives throughout the Oceti Sakowin (Lakota Nation) and at least 3 other First Nations (Mi’kmaq, Meskwaki, Anishinaabe).
We are a public facing business and participate in various Pow Wows, historic reenactments and other events. We maintain an online shop through our website (and may include various social media connections). We are participating members of our local Native Friendship Centres, and connect to a wider Indigenous community through social media and other communication means.
We sell historic trade goods, handmade crafts, traditional (external) medicines, natural herbs & resins, pelts & skulls; all sustainably harvested and in almost all cases, from Indigenous peoples. Your use of any product is at your own discretion – we may offer advice on the use & efficacy, based on our personal and extensive experience, but “your mileage may vary”…there are no 100% guarantees in life. We also sell a variety of original designs with Indigenous themes, print-on-demand products (shirts, hoodies, hats, shoes, mugs, etc.). These ship directly from our manufacturer, using eco-friendly practices and providing less waste.
Any time we ask for your personal information, it is only used to better communicate with you and deliver products/services. We will never sell or share your information without consent to any third party. We do ask for reviews and these may be verified by a trusted third party, but your personally identifiable information is kept secure and nothing identifiable is published except your review & name (which we may shorten to First Name & Initial). If your review is directly associated with an online purchase, a “verified” badge may appear on it.
All shipments are generally prepared and shipped within 24-28 hours of order & full payment. We ship using Canada Post, with the exception of our “Merch” which ships directly from our manufacturing partner (multiple worldwide fulfillment centres) and may take a little longer to arrive (printed on-demand). Signatures may be required for some orders.
Payments may be made with INTERAC® eTransfer from any bank in Canada, PayPal or Square using any major credit card. We accept cash in person at public events, but may also accept eTransfer and credit/debit transactions.
We offer local pickup in Niagara Region and may occasionally arrange drop off.
In the extremely unlikely event of a return (at our discretion), shipping must be pre-paid by the customer (or drop off arranged). We will do our best to see this is never necessary and otherwise will arrange for exchange or replacement. Any returns of “Merch” go back to our manufacturing partners directly. Any returns must be in the same condition as shipped, refunds are at our sole discretion. Traditional medicines, herbs & resins are generally non-returnable.
Any questions about these policies, or anything else, may be directed through our Contact Page.
