Port Colborne Canal Days
Join us this coming weekend (Sat. July 30 & Sun. July 31) for the 38th annual Canal Days Marine Heritage Festival in downtown Port Colborne – right at the junction of the Welland Canal & Lake Erie! We may look a bit different than we do at other events…just look for the Pyrates.
We are in a special location: The Port Colborne Historical & Marine Museum (280 King St., at Princess St.). Our good friends, Bad Billy’s Blades are joining us as well as Museum attractions including Canada’s first “Steam Automobile”, live music, local food (Riverside Berry Farm), Remote Control Model Boat Show, demonstrations of Blacksmithing, Woodcarving, Wool Spinning, Chair Caning, Rope Ladder-Making…do not leave without sampling the Tea & Home-style biscuits at Arabella’s Edwardian Tea Room! The 2nd Regiment Lincoln Militia (1812) will be on hand to keep the peace.
We have our usual assortment of First Nations Medicines (Buffalo Sage, Bear Salve, Minigan…), Organic Herbs, Resin Incense, Semi-Precious Stones, Pewter Tankards, Handmade Clay Pipes, Animal Skulls, Pelts, Beeswax, Bones & other items!
Down by the water, visit the tall ship, Empire Sandy (Canada’s largest Topsail Schooner), Fireboat Edward M. Cotter, Hamilton Harbour Queen and an assortment of antique watercraft! Cruises are also available out into Lake Erie on Empire Sandy.
Classic Car Show, Free Concerts (David Wilcox, Kim Mitchell, Finger 11 & more), Kite Festival, Kids Zone (with rides & games), Fireworks and much more!
