All Paddle – No Creek!

Luke Gavin has carved another beautiful piece of art – a true collectible! We’re presenting this in an auction – so you can help us, help our local Native Friendship Centres! This paddle is 29.5 inches long, hand carved/painted, decorated with beads & feathers and treated with a natural oil preservative.

The Auction runs until noon EST on Sun. 13 Sept., 2021. Starting bids are $60, bid in increments of $10 – or buy it now for $600. All profits will go directly to the two centres mentioned above. The winner will be contacted within 48 hours of auction completion; arrangements will be made for pick up or delivery (in Niagara Region) or shipping if necessary.

For many of us fortunate to be near one, Native Friendship Centres are an important part of our connection to community! From Pow Wow to Social, Language Lessons to Counselling, there are programs for everyone from Toddlers to Elders, regardless of Status, Nation or situation. A place to gather in the spirit of friendship, respect, compassion, honesty, and a connection to traditions and culture that you may have been removed from. In Niagara Region we are very fortunate to have both the Fort Erie Native Friendship Centre and the Niagara Regional Friendship Centre – as well as several associated organizations throughout these communities. Programs at these centres are free for those who attend and most of the people who work there are actually volunteers!

Luke has also presented two previous carved works, now available for sale!
