Unchained Malady

That’s not a typo in the title. We’ve all been hearing (and experiencing) the recent “supply chain issues” with everything from food to household products – well, it just hit us unexpectedly.

Just a while ago, we posted about our sustainable & eco-friendly practices, one of which was switching several of our Merch items to products using recycled fabrics…and then, several of them were hit by stock shortages! In order to keep our products active, we had to switch our shirts to an alternate base product – but the same quality (and in fact, used for some of our other shirts). Almost identical in fit & feel to the recycled fabric shirts, these are 100% combed and ring-spun cotton. We added one new design to the list, and have one with a customizable text line! A few sizes may not be immediately available – if you have any issues, contact us. Some products may take a little longer to arrive, but the quality is worth the wait.

I just received my own ‘Recyled Cuffed Beanie’ (50% recycled polyester and 50% acrylic) with the Dish With One Spoon design and I’m extremely happy with it! First of all, I keep challenging the software that helps create “mockups” of our original designs – especially the embroidery generator. The wampum design has so many fine lines, the image generator literally ‘explodes’ into a blob of colour! Our manufacturer, however, continues to impress, and the result for this very important design is spectacular. The hat itself is very soft, strong, stretchy and warm – lightweight enough that you’ll hardly notice it’s on. It fits neatly over my thick head of hair, with room to spare (25″/60cm or hat size 7 3/4 – 8). The tag includes a link to the manufacturer’s Sustainability Project (the beanie is the Atlantis Rio model). There are 3 designs & 3 colour options for the beanie (except one design that has 2).

Of course, I wear my own products!

We also have two Champion® brand jackets – a packable windbreaker (packs into its own pocket) and the heavier “Bomber” style jacket (80% cotton, 20% polyester sueded fleece). Both include our exclusive embroidered design and are available in selected colours.

As always, we appreciate your support of an Indigenous & Veteran led “local” business!
